Double Laced Barnevelder Large

Originating in Holland, the Barnevelder is a medium sized bird with the striking double laced feather pattern. The double laced being the original colour variety of two black lacings over a red/brown ground colour. This docile breed are a hardy bird that forages well. Not known to go broody they lay a brown egg. They are able to be sexed at day old.

Silver Double Laced Barnevelder Large

The Barnevelder is a medium sized bird with the striking double laced feather pattern.The ever popular silver double laced colour variety has been created here at Fontana Heritage Poultry. This colour variety has two black lacings over a silver ground colour. This docile breed are a hardy bird that forages well. Not known to go broody they lay a brown egg. They are able to be sexed at day old.

Blue Silver Double Laced Barnevelder Large

The Barnevelder is a medium sized bird with the striking double laced feather pattern. The blue silver double laced is our most recently released colour variety created here at Fontana Heritage Poultry. This colour variety has two blue lacings over a silver ground colour. Proving last season to be a popular variation. We have a small breeding team so supply is limited. This docile breed are a hardy bird that forages well. Not known to go broody they lay 

Blue Double Laced Barnevelder Large

The Barnevelder is a medium sized bird with the striking double laced feather pattern. The blue double laced being two blue lacings over a red/brown ground colour. When breeding blue to blue a percentage of the offspring will be diluted and known as 'splash'. This docile breed are a hardy bird that forages well. Not known to go broody they lay a brown egg.

White Laced Barnevelder Large

The Barnevelder is a medium sized bird with the striking double laced feather pattern. The white double laced colour variety was created here some years ago at Fontana Heritage Poultry but only release 3 years ago. This variety has proven to be some of our best layers in our Barnevelders and produce our darkest brown eggs. This docile breed are a hardy bird that forages well. Not known to go broody.

Chocolate Silver Double Laced Barnevelder Large

The Barnevelder is a medium sized bird with the striking double laced feather pattern. The chocolate silver double laced is our most recently created colour variety here at Fontana Heritage Poultry. This colour variety has two chocolate lacings over a silver ground colour. Whilst we continue working on perfecting this colour it will be unavailable. We hope for an official release date to be in 2025.This docile breed are a hardy bird, forages well.

Double Laced Barnevelder Bantam

The Barnevelder bantam is 1/3 to 1/4 of the size of the standard Barnevelder, which has been carefully re-created here at Fontana Heritage Poultry after going extinct in Australia. Years of hard work have gone into ensuring these birds are true to type and have the same striking double laced feather pattern as our standard barnevelder . Two black lacings over a red/brown ground colour. This docile breed are a hardy bird that forages well. Not known to go broody.
