Utility Sussex - Pure Fred Hams Line

Pure UK imported line, direct from world renowned poultry author Fred Hams. This specially bred UTILITY line are bred to be a duel purpose birds showing great egg production as well as yielding a good carcass. A medium sized bird, much smaller and having greater production than the exhibition lines of light Sussex. Classically beautiful with their crisp white body and black detailing over their neck, wings and tail. Highest recommendation as a backyard layer!

Utility Australorp

One of very few Australian breeds, originally created from black Orpingtons to be strong egg producers. Once very numerous, the utility strain are now extremely rare and very hard to source. A bright glossy black bird with a beetle green sheen, clean red face with a black eye. Much smaller and with far greater egg production than the exhibition lines of Australorp. Very quiet and docile breed. A great backyard layer!

Utility White Leghorn

These specifically bred UTILITY strain of white leghorns are phenomenal layers. These birds used to be the backbone of the egg laying industry. Much smaller than exhibition lines of leghorns, these small birds lay big white eggs. Great converters of food to egg ratios.

Non aggressive but can be flighty. They love to forage and are not known to be broody.
